It might have taken 8 weeks, but i have completed my mission to trap the kittehs of Kunda Park. So we now have Minty and Mango. Mango (who i caught last night) will take some time to settle but Minty has domesticated nicely and happily rides around on my shoulders.
In addition to which the trap (arranged by my mate Andrew, many thanks) came in handy for relocating the possum which had taken up residence in my parents' roof. Now the fact it was living in the roof was no problem at all, but when it got into the habit of pissing through the roof onto anyone unfortunate enough to be underneath, it had to go. No one pisses on my wife without my permission damn it!
So onto the cycling, on Wednesday it was up to Gyndier Drive before work for some repeats. The plan was for 5 repeats but it took me a while to get the kitten sorted, so i had to settle for 3. Being a fair while ago now i don't remember a whole lot about it, but by the numbers i ticked along reasonably well and picked up a 2015 KOM while i was at it. I do quite clearly remember turning onto Beckmans Rd at the same time as a work mate in a van, and reaching the end of said road nearly a minute ahead of him thanks to school traffic!
The big ride on Thursday didn't eventuate, as the antibiotics i was taking had me feeling a bit under the weather. I made up for it by doing 5 repeats of Gyndier on Friday morning though, and while i didn't feel particularly good going up or down i managed to come in only 9 seconds off my best time. I still need another minute to get the KOM but it's certainly very achievable.
There was the possibility of a recovery ride on Saturday, but it was jolly warm, so instead i headed out to the farm after work to clear some groundsel in the late afternoon.
To be continued in but a moment..
Fair Winds,
