My sincere apologies for the long wait but life has been....full lately.
As an example, Saturday (the one just gone, and yes i'm embarrassed it's so long between posts that i have to specify which Saturday) i was up at 5am for a 26km TT effort.
Then work from 8-12.
2 hours of welding a trailer.
Then 120kms of driving to borrow a ute and pick up another trailer (with scrap metal prices doing a rather alarming swan dive recently i am investigating other avenues for making money).
A quick trip to Bunnings for building supplies and then finally in bed around 9pm.
All of which leaves little time for either cycling or talking about cycling!
But that is why i've decided to finish off the house now, as this kind of disruption later in the year would be disastrous, but for now it's more of an annoyance. Having a house at the end of it is a reasonable tradeoff i suppose...
For those who weren't here at the beginning of the house saga (which was nearly 3 years ago now!) the short story is this. A dairy, built in 1983 by my parents and converted to a house around 89, was rented out til 2013. When the tenant (yes only one tenant in all that time) left, the house was a little worse for wear. To be specific, it required complete gutting and rebuilding from a bare shell.
But now that bare shell is achingly close to completion, so the deadline has been set to have it ready for us to move in at the end of February. There's not much left to do, just painting, floorcovering and furnishing but sweet merciful baby jesus that takes some work!
I don't know how people paint houses for a living, between the excruciating arm pain, the sweat, the paint flicking in your eyes...
But enough of that, it's time for photos!

Those aren't my cows, but the neighbours which are on agistment. Letting them into the house yard keeps the jungle somewhat in check, so less work for me!
Fair Winds,
