Well technically Thor did but that's not really the point, i'm just whinging.
I did squeeze in a short ride before work on Wednesday, but it was completely un-notable so we'll just skip to today. I got to Noosa a few minutes late so started chasing and took a shortcut in an attempt to catch the bunch. It didn't quite work, but just as i rolled into Boreen Point, the bunch was assembling to ride out, so i must have made a reasonable job of it.
Away we went at the usual solid pace, which became ridiculous (50kmh+) very quickly. I hung on ok for the first couple of kilometres, and then after turning onto McKinnon Drive things went south both literally and metaphorically.
653 LQX, a Ford Terrortry driven by a homicidal woman and her vile neanderthal of a husband came up behind the bunch which was no more than 2 abreast, with plenty of room to safely overtake, and laid on the horn while the Missing Link hung out the window yelling profanities from well within the required 1.5m distance. This is the 2nd time that pair have done this, but after my experience with Constable "what do you want us to do about it" the other day, i'm waiting until i have her on film before reporting it. Hopefully that will get a better response from the constabulary (as well as the fact these incidents are happening in a different police area).
Now with my current lack of sleep and overwork, i have found myself less able to deal with such things, so after that i decided i needed a bit of cheering up. For some reason i thought going up the climb on Louis Bazzo Drive would do the trick.

I just about killed Foo last year when i took him up that climb, and it was a damn good workout today. A loong way off the KOM on that one, but plenty of time to rectify that.
The ride back into Noosa was a very slow one with the usual solid headwind, but i pepped up a bit and had a good crack when i reached Tewantin and had some traffic to outrun.
A productive afternoon followed (or at least it did once i woke up, morning nap FTW!) and then i even managed to spend some time with the wife (going grocery shopping counts as "quality time" right?)
A short MTB ride before work tomorrow morning, then off to Brisbane on the weekend for some climbing and a swap meet.
Fair Winds,
LDR.
